Newsletter – April 2016

If you haven’t signed up to our newsletter already, why not? This month’s newsletter is out, and we thought we’d share some of it with you, to give you a taste. Naturally, the links to the free stories (a collection which will will grow) isn’t here. If you want that, sign up! If you want a free sample of ‘A Family War’ by Stewart Hotston, sign up!

A Family War is brewing!

We’re very excited to announce that shortly, Stewart Hotston’s debut novel, ‘A Family War’, will be available for purchase!

‘What’s it all about?’ I hear you ask. Ask no more!

Helena is one of the Oligarchs, genetically enhanced, centuries old families who rule the world. As a new world war begins, she is ordered to find a boy who could save the human race from genocide. Yet all is not as it seems; Helena finds enemies on all sides, intent on bringing about the war with all its horrific consequences. To make matters worse, Helena’s own integral AI challenges both her motives and her identity. Yet she has no choice but to accept its treacherous aid if she is to have any hope of surviving those who want her dead.

As you can see, the subtitle is ‘The Oligarchy – Book One’, which should hint at yet more books to come.

Support Your Artists!

Artists work damned hard to produce the covers we know and love. It doesn’t matter that they’ve already been paid. If no-one knows that they did it, no-one is going to get them to do more work.

With this in mind, we’d like to credit Lawrence Mann for doing the cover.

Emancipation is on the way!

Book two of the Blaise Maximillian series is currently going through the final stages of the editing process, and we’re in the middle of sourcing an artist to do the cover for that.

For those that are real fans of the Bitter Defeat universe, book three, Fight Back!, is being written. We already have a couple of excellent ideas for a cover, with rats featuring heavily in one of them!

If you enjoy our books and short stories, help others to, too!

Reviews are the most powerful weapons in a small publisher’s arsenal when it comes to generating awareness of our books. We’d love to have an ad on the London Underground and a gravelly-voiced video playing all over the internet, but that costs money we don’t (currently) have.

That’s why you, our fabulous readers, are so important. Big publishing houses will have their fans, but we like to believe that ours are dedicated to reading the next book Hotston’s Oligarchy series, or catching up on the misery Sylvester likes to inflict upon Blaise Maximillian.

Honest reviews of our books mean that other readers find them. If they’re full of 5* reviews, 4* reviews, 3* if you must, they will entice other readers and get them to buy. Even 1* reviews can help, as everyone likes to discuss a 1*. So even if you didn’t like a book, please still take the time to write an honest review.
